REC ScanModule AB informs about a potential repair situation

REC ScanModule AB has become aware of a weakness in the junction box of its solar modules. This weakness does not necessarily have an immediate impact on the performance of the affected solar modules, but can potentially result in power loss over time. A limited number of solar modules requiring repair have so far been discovered in regions with demanding weather conditions. REC ScanModule is working on assessing the scope of this repair need and preparing a repair solution.

All REC ScanModule owners that could be affected should register their solar modules.

Description:

The repair requirement is related to the contact area between the cross connector and the junction box itself. Over time the weakness can cause a poor contact between the junction box connection bar and the cross connector. In some cases the poor connection has lead to overheating and deformation of the insert in the junction box. This situation can cause the solar system to produce less energy. The necessary repair is isolated to the junction box only and does not have an effect on the module itself.

What to do:

Please registrer your solar modules using the registration form. After registering your system you will be contacted by an REC ScanModule representative. REC ScanModule will cover authorized repair costs of the affected modules. A new REC ScanModule warranty certificate, valid from the date of repair, will be issued for all modules undergoing this repair. REC ScanModule apologizes for any inconveniences.
